Such courses that will be needed for your associate degree in web development are Introduction to Computers, Illustration and Image Editing, E-Commerce Marketing, Multimedia Programming, Wed Design 1 and Web Design 2, Delivery Systems for Electronic Publication 1 and 2. You will also study Server-Side Web Scripting and Introduction to Dynamic Web Scripting.

Other courses needed are Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Sociology, and other general education subjects. Although all these courses are required, some schools make expect other courses to be taken to meet the requirements for earning an associate degree.

Networking will teach you about the fundamentals of networking. The course covers Internet working devices, protocols, access methods, cabling systems, WAN topologies, LAN topologies and OSI reference models. Some schools offer the class Website Development Fundamentals, which covers teaching web page principles, XHTML and Adobe Dreamweaver. You will learn how to control the attributes of a web page.

The degree prepares you for an exciting career, but you will have to continue to take course and attend seminars as technology and securities advance. Many students apply their associate degrees toward earning their bachelors degree while working in their specific field.
